Teacher Training Essex – PGCE Course Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

All candidates must have:

  • An honours degree (minimum 2.2) from a university in Great Britain or Overseas, or an ordinary degree with 300 credits, of which 60 must be at level 6, or a qualification recognised as equivalent to a degree

  • GCSEs at level C (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Science and English

  • The ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English

Don’t worry if you don’t have any school experience, many of our schools are happy to provide the opportunity for applicants to gain experience with them.

Candidates are required to pass the Skills Tests in English and mathematics following an offer of a place. Support to do this is available to those candidates who have accepted offers with us.

Once you have accepted your offer we will make an application for an enhanced DBS check. All offers will be subject to this being completed successfully.

All candidates are required to make a ‘fitness to teach’ declaration to Occupational Health.
